IT STANDS TO REASON that gardeners ought to know more about insects than non-gardeners. So test your insect savvy against that of the third- and fifth-graders to whom I typically give this true-false miniquiz. (By the way, most of the kids do well on this test.)
The answers follow the quiz; no peeking!

1. All insects have six legs.
2. Insect bones are tiny but extremely strong.
3. All insects have four developmental stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult.
