John Hannah was a no nonsense player in his heyday with the Patriots, so it came as no surprise yesterday when the Hall of Fame guard opened his first speech as the head football coach at Somerville High with the words everyone came to hear: "We will win."
Hannah officially was named the school's new coach, replacing Tony Gulla, who resigned after an 0-11 season and headed to Florida to pursue business interests.
Hannah, 52, spent the past three seasons as an offensive line coach at Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield, before expressing an interest in the Somerville job. He pronounced himself ready to take on the challenge of ...
