O.A.R. and Robert Randolph & the Family Band, at the Orpheum, Boston, Thursday night.
The Orpheum was miraculously transformed into both a church and a frat house Thursday night when the sanctified sounds of Robert Randolph & the Family Band joined forces with keg-tapping jam band O.A.R. (Of A Revolution).
Fresh off their performance at the Grammys, gospel steel guitar upstart Robert Randolph & the Family Band (his cousins Danyel Morgan and Marcus Randolph play bass and drums, respectively) began the night on a decidedly secular note with the "Beverly Hills Cop" throwback funk of "Axel F."
