STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM), Geneva, one of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers, has been awarded the Best Industrial Renewable Energy Partnership as part of the European Commission's Campaign for Take-Off for Renewable Energy Awards 2003.
The prestigious award was presented at a special ceremony in Berlin on the opening day of the European Conference for Renewable Energy "Intelligent Policy Options", organized under the high patronage of Loyola de Palacio, Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Energy and Transport. ST received the prize for its program to achieve an objective of 15% of renewable energy sources by 2010.
