Growing up, Brian Gleason vividly remembers hearing tales of the Navy from his father and grandfather.
"I remember a lot of stories around the Sunday dinner table," said Gleason, 18 and a senior at Auburn High School.
Those discussions planted the seed that has bloomed into his acceptance at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md.
Gleason is the only Cayuga County senior thus far offered an appointment to a service academy this year. His is a congressional appointment by Rep. Sherwood L. Boehlert, R-New Hartford.
