SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Yonhap) -- Hanaro Telecom Inc., South Korea's second-largest broadband Internet operator, said Tuesday it is seeking to increase sales by 9 percent to 1.5 trillion won (US$1.3 billion) this year.
Hanaro, which is 39.6 percent owned by American International Group and Newbridge Capital, also plans to achieve its first annual net profit in 2004. To achieve its goal, the company plans to focus on low-cost Internet-based telephone services based on subscribers to its ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber lines) high-speed Internet access, Hanaro said in a statement.
