MILWAUKEE _ John Kerry narrowly won the Wisconsin primary Tuesday, edging out a surprisingly strong challenge from John Edwards that signaled the race for the Democratic presidential nomination is not yet over.
Kerry's win, his 15th in 17th contests, tightened his grip on the Democratic presidential nomination. "A win is a win," said Kerry before the polls even closed.
But Edwards was buoyed by a surge of support in the final days of the Wisconsin campaign and vowed to fight on. Their close 1-2 finish suggested a two-man race as the campaign moves toward a March 2 Super Tuesday showdown.
