Bodega Bay is a tiny settlement with a lot of seafaring history on the northern California coast. Its harbor shelters a fleet of fishing boats and pleasure craft. It also attracts tourists, which may be the reason why Sea Ridge winery located its tasting room there although the winery itself is inland five miles or so. The charm of the marine setting was definitely why -- when the time came last fall to celebrate the winery's 10th anniversary, the press and other friends were treated to a cruise through the bay and briefly into the open Pacific and enjoyed a special sea-going lunch accompanied by Sea Ridge Chardonnay and barrel samples of Merlot, Pinot noir and Rustic ...
