The two goals seem hopelessly at odds: Hold down the rapid growth in the cost of health care coverage, but improve the quality of care.
Yet a task force of some of the region's and the country's top experts in health care and cost management has outlined a sweeping plan to accomplish both goals for King County government, in partnership with some of the area's biggest employers.
County Executive Ron Sims is announcing the panel's initial findings today.
