Long known for its rich history and culture, Germany also boasts some of the most magnificent architecture in Europe. And, a 50-mile drive away from Frankfurt, the location of three global trade fairs this March, sits the city of Heidelberg, featuring its historic castle. Initially built of stone in the early 15th century, the Heidelberg Castle served as a residence for Prince Elector Ruprecht III; later on in the century, Prince Elector Philipp built the Fountain Hall with columns originally from the decayed palace of Charlemagne.
