Washington, D.C. -- The country's largest labor federation endorsed John Kerry on Thursday as the Democratic presidential front-runner sought to fend off criticism from rival John Edwards that he is weak on protecting jobs.
While Kerry and Edwards campaigned for their party's nomination, President Bush defended himself against their criticism of economic policies they blame for the loss of nearly 3 million jobs since he took office in January 2001.
