SANTA MONICA -- After getting 20 years of lip service, environmental concerns have finally lifted to the forefront of the American psyche for the '90s. Recently Los Angeles laid out its most extensive and ambitious plan to cut back on the pollutants that choke her skies. The plan covered everything from auto emissions, fluurocarbo from air-conditioning units to the fumes from barbecue lighter fluids.
This new plan put the city on the cutting edge of environmental politics and planning and it is in this environment that Fred Segal opened his Fred Degal For A Better Ecology store in Santa Monica this past August.
