Feb. 22--In the quest to attract jobs and keep taxes reasonable, York County officials continue to look for ways to entice new, clean industry to the area. But there's a looming cloud some fear could slow economic growth: pollution.
By April, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is expected to decide whether York County should be lumped in with Charlotte as a "nonattainment" area -- one that isn't meeting new federal air-quality standards on ground-level ozone, or smog, pollution.
