Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Moseley is not convinced that the defense industry can develop a realistic near-term exoatmospheric hypersonic vehicle, but does believe a solution in the hypersonic field could come in the long term.
"As you guys know, we're spending a reasonable amount of money on hypersonics. The fact of the matter is the technology doesn't exist yet," Moseley said during the Precision Strike Association's 2004 Winter Roundtable in Arlington, Va.
