The blustery day began as we hid inside the DEC shed, listening to the briefing for the task at hand. Our job was to provide communications for the annual Tug Hill Tourathon, working with military and race officials.
The military was running the winter training exercise. Compared to their covert operations, we would be high-profile, stationed at checkpoints along the 50-kilometer course through Winona State Forest in Boylston.
