NEW YORK -- Henri Bendel will be closing its in-store shop for Agent Provocateur by the end of March.
Ed Burstell, vice president of Henri Bendel, said Monday, "I guess it was my call: incorrect. I think we overstated the customers' needs for something that's pretty specific. But they've been wonderful and I still love their product."
The 400-square-foot shop environment replete with signature lacy wall paper was opened on Bendel's second floor in fall 2002. Burstell said he hasn't decided what category will replace the lingerie boutique, noting, "We're still looking, but we had an explosive fall season with accessories and knitwear."
