Neither can remember exactly how they met, but after three months, former Seattle Seahawks great Ken Easley and Greater Trinity Baptist Church pastor Paul Stoot established a friendship made out of granite.

They met in late 1993 when Stoot was beginning his quest for funds to buy a church for his up and coming congregation. Stoot was having no luck and needed closer to $20,000 as a down payment for the building at 11229 4th Ave. W. But after meeting Easley, the fundraising took a turn for the better.
