SYDNEY, Feb 26 Asia Pulse - The Australian Transport Network (ATN), which runs Tasrail (ASX:TOL), has been bought by Australia's largest private rail operator, Pacific National.
The sale includes Tasrail's 39 locomotives and 668 wagons, some additional rolling stock servicing grain customers in southern New South Wales and Victoria, and the 50-year lease of Tasmania's 780 km of rail track.
"We want Tasrail to grow, and predict new opportunities for rail in Tasmania," said Pacific National Chief Executive Officer, Stephen O'Donnell.
