Scott Chatfield, the longtime Pompey town attorney who was recently replaced by the town board, will continue to work for the town in another capacity.
The Pompey Planning Board Feb. 12 voted 6-1 to retain Chatfield, who has been the planning board's lawyer for many years. Before the vote, the planning board also considered whether to hire the Syracuse law firm of MacKenzie Hughes.
"I've been on the board 15 years, and we've had no litigation with Scott (as lawyer)," planning board chair Doug Miller said. "He's done a fine job and at a fair price. He expressed a very strong interest to remain working for us."
