Q: Do you have any suggestions for how I might remove the water stains from my mother's favorite aluminum cake pan? When I made some rice pudding, I set the glass dish full of pudding in the cake pan filled with water, and it discolored the pan.
A: Minerals in the water caused the discoloration, said a customer service representative at the Mirro Co., which manufactures aluminum cookware. The discoloration isn't harmful, but it's unattractive.
