Fat Tuesday is a good excuse to have a big time in Denver without all the crackpot craziness of New Orleans.
To me, Mardi Gras season is just a prelude to my annual trek to Jazz Fest (along with dozens of other Denver devotees), the end-of- April-early-May rockin' good time where the food is fine, the music memorable and women (for the most part) keep their shirts on.
But if you're looking for an excuse to party tonight (and who isn't?) or just need a fresh string of beads, sashay over to some local spots were you can party hearty.
