Feb. 26--The second annual Blacks in Business Scholarship Banquet will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Liberty Room banquet hall in Liberty Park, 1857 Joe Jeffords Highway, Orangeburg.
Scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to two recipients:
-- Brence Pernell, son of Dennis and Martha Ann Pernell, is first in his class of 56 students at Blackville-Hilda High School. A senior, his activities include band, soccer, track and field, Student Council, Beta Club and Drama Club. Pernell serves as the coordinator of the Barnwell County Food Drive and the St. ...
