Evaluation of new prices is under way at Dubai-based Emaar Properties for the pilings package on the landmark Burj Dubai project (MEED 30:5:03).
The bidders are: Germany's Bauer; Swissboring, part of the Italy's Trevi Group; a joint venture of the local NSCC with France's Bachy Soletanche; and the local Middle East Foundations. The estimated AED 90 million ($24.5 million) contract calls for the excavation of up to 50 metres and the driving of about 170 1.5-metre-diameter piles.
