The Santa Barbara Sistemas group of General Dynamics [GD] said yesterday it had signed $672 million in contract orders with Spain to finance the acquisition of upgraded Pizarro infantry fighting vehicles and the modernization of BMR wheeled armored fighting vehicles.
The first contract is worth $640 million, and includes funding for the technological development of the second phase of the Pizarro contract, which extends through 2012.
This is part of an initial funding package approved by the Spanish government in September, with an overall value of $889 million for the development and production of 212 vehicles. The September award also included ...
