In 1992, G. Heuser, A. Wojdani, and S. Heuser published the article "Diagnostic Markers of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity" (National Academy Press, Washington DC). The researchers evaluated 135 patients (75% female) who complained of often debilitating reactions to chemical exposure. CBC and blood chemistry were done routinely. Some patients received viral, bacterial, endocrine, or other tests as indicated by symptoms. Most patients also had immune testing, done at Immunosciences Laboratories. The researchers used 160 healthy volunteers to establish normal ranges for all immune function tests reported in the study
