It is not often that one of Europe's 10 biggest asset gatherers builds a new fund management operation almost 200 years after its creation, but this is what Caisse d'Epargne is doing.The French savings bank will take over the operations of CDC Ixis Asset Management in July as part of an agreement reached last year with the state-owned Caisse des Depots et Consignations (CDC) to take control of two joint ventures: Ixis, the investment bank and asset manager, and Eulia, a commercial bank.
