Budapest. March 2. INTERFAX-EUROPE - CONSUMER ELECTRONICS MARKET CONTINUES TO EXPAND. The turnover of the consumer electronics market was HUF 120 billion last year, up 20% from 2002, according to market research institute GfK Hungaria. The growth was the combined result of the slow price erosion of products and the market's expansion, led by new openings of retail stores. Demand for DVD players increased sharply, with 9% of households having a DVD player, up from 4.5% in the previous year. Almost every household, 94% has a color television set, while 13% had more than one last year. (Napi Gazdasag, p. 4)
