Mar. 3--MTV is considering Memphis and FedExForum for the 2004 Video Music Awards, according to sources familiar with the talks.
The network's showcase annual event could take place in early September, about the time the $250 million arena is scheduled to open.
For Memphis, the VMAs would bring international attention to the city's year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of rock and roll.
