BRITAIN's largest commuter train operating company, South West Trains, is replacing all its mobile ticket issuing machines with Avantix Mobile machines from Atos Origin. The 500+ devices now being installed will bring the total number of Avantix Mobile machines in use in Britain to 2450.
Main rationale behind the upgrade is that it will enable South West Trains to automate its back office accounting process, which is currently a mainly paper-driven process. This will reduce costs and increase efficiency.
