Bridge flap marred death of Malcolm J. Forbes Sr.
Malcolm J. Forbes Sr. passed away this weekend after a protracted battle against cardiopulmonary disease and Parkinson's disease. As a lifelong resident of Chesapeake, his name was synonymous with Great Bridge, and his memory should not be overshadowed by the recent media controversy surrounding the naming of the new Great Bridge Bridge.
News reports and letters to the editor inaccurately portrayed state Del. John Cosgrove's effort to have the General Assembly designate the bridge in honor of Malcolm Forbes as a slight to the Chesapeake City Council, former legislators, and Chesapeake's veterans. To those ...
