The Uruguayan mail services Correo (Administracion Nacional de Correos) is implementing a voluntary retirement program hoping to slash its labor force by 500 employees from a total 1,900 labor force. Financially the move would allow the savings of US$65mil in labor costs and help to slash the US$235mil deficit of Correo.
