Tom Rigney began his fiddling career with the western swing / bluegrass band Back in the Saddle and later played with Queen Ida's Bon Temp Zydeco Band. He was a founding member of the Sundogs and since 2000 Tom has fronted Flambeau. The San Francisco-based band is comprised of Danny Caron, electric guitar; Caroline Dahl, keyboards and accordion; Jimmy Sanchez, drums and Steve Parks electric bass. They are all r&b and zydeco veterans and all contribute to a sound that also includes some rockabilly, swing and French Canadian influences.
The CD opens with "Maman Rosin" and "Co Fa," both traditional zydeco tunes with infectious rhythms. Carl ...
