Bill Gardner, regional manager for Vacuum Source Inc., recently demonestrated the company's vaXcavator vacuum excavator's many applications for a South Carolina municipality. Inflow and infiltration, ground water and other outside material was detected in the city's sewer system and a small sinkhole was reported next to a homeowner's driveway. Upon further inspection. it was determined that a possible sewer line break existed under or near the driveway.
The original plan was to utilize the vaXcavator's optional hydraulic power system in conjunction with a low-flow jack hammer to remove a portion of the home owner's driveway to expose the area where the break was located. ...
