SEOUL, March 4 Asia Pulse - Hanaro Telecom Inc. (KOSDAQ:033630), South Korea's second-largest broadband Internet operator and minor fixed-line telephone company, is offering price cuts in its traditional telephone service this month, as part of a drive to lure customers from market leader KT Corp (KSE:030200).

In March, customers, when they sign up for Hanaro's local telephone service, will receive 50 per cent deductions on service fees, such as per-call costs, and other freebies. However, there will be no discount on the basic monthly subscription price.
