Hailing it as an accomplishment for the restaurant industry, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) have received a $150,000 appropriation from the federal government for NRAEF's 2004 ProStart Summer Institute program.
The funding was approved as part of the Omnibus Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2004, which President Bush signed into law on Jan. 23. This funding is intended to help enhance key education and training initiatives for high-school restaurant and hospitality programs.
