Mar. 5--TAMPA, Fla. -- A majority of Florida voters don't think "real competition" exists among local telephone providers and the cost of service is too high, according to a poll released Thursday by the Florida Competitive Carriers Association.
The poll, conducted by the Alexandria, Va.-based Public Opinion Strategies, found 55 percent of Florida voters think they have no real choice of competitors for local phone service.
And 70 percent of those polled said the state Public Service Commission should continue to regulate rates competitors pay to access the networks ...
