GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. -- On the day Lee Ann Brooks' parents brought her home from the maternity ward, the family dog was along for the ride. His name was Ike, and he was a boxer.
Lee Ann doesn't claim to actually remember it. But she's sure that, somewhere in her subconscious, Ike made an impression. It's been quite a ride, she says, a quarter-century in the making, culminating in a championship a few weeks ago at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at New York's Madison Square Garden.
