MILWAUKEE (AP) -- School districts say they are scrutinizing their election information and tightening restrictions on referendum campaigning after a district attorney raised questions about one in Menomonee Falls.
Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher accused the Menomonee Falls School District last month of violating state election law just days before a referendum.
He criticized the district's approach on everything from how it portrayed the tax affect of a proposed $19.8 million building plan to its relationship with a citizens group.
Now other districts say they are being more careful.
