BRUSSELS, Belgium, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Schering-Plough Europe today reported that results of a randomised Phase III clinical study demonstrated that CAELYX(TM) (pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride) provided comparable efficacy in the first-line treatment of metastatic breast cancer with significantly reduced cardiac toxicity compared to conventional doxorubicin, one of the most active drugs in the treatment of breast cancer. The study results were published in the current edition of Annals of Oncology.(1)
