Vinyl acetate is an important basic organic chemical raw material extensively used in the production of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), coatings, sizes, adhesives, vinylon, films, vinyl co-polymerized resins and acetal resins.
China has 15 vinyl acetate units today with a total capacity of 756 000 t/a. Owing to the great market demand, the operating rate of domestic vinyl acetate units is more than 80%. Based on the assimilation of imported technologies, the vinyl acetate production technology in China has made outstanding progress. Catalysts used in acetylene-process units and ethylene-process units, are made in China by Chinese scientists. ...
