Judie: Last week we dissed ugly shoes - Uggs, clogs and Frye boots. Another homely style, spreading like mold, is the bowling shoe. Who would have thought people would actually want to wear bowling shoes outside of a bowling alley?
No shoe is more unflattering or guaranteed to ruin an outfit. Well, the unsightly, ill-proportioned bowling shoe has mated with the tennis shoe and morphed into a monster. Called "driving shoes" or "casual shoes," or whatever, they come in harsh colors, bulbous shapes and are too darn comfortable to be worn anywhere but at home or at the gym.
