She's petite and extremely polite, unfailingly genuine, courteous, if not eager to please.
Except when tennis was a closed club. Except when people repeatedly made line calls straight out of the dark ages, ruling that women players and equal participation were out - always out.
That's when Trish Bostrom sprinted across center court, teeth bared, and pulled a John McEnroe.
OK, the former professional team tennis player never actually did a full transformation into The Brat, though she's well acquainted with McEnroe and his high-octane protests. Bostrom voiced her displeasure in her own way.
