2004 MAR 21 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- HearUSA, Inc., (EAR) announced that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to develop a pilot program designed to provide access for veterans to receive hearing care services.
The current service area includes Florida, southern Georgia, and parts of Texas. Based on the VA's request for proposal, the company estimates revenues generated from this contract will exceed $1 million per year. The contract is structured as a "fee for service" contract, paying the company for patient testing and the fitting of hearing aids in the company-owned centers or affiliated network.
