Contemplative and a little warm in their black robes, the students are deep into a three-hour class on medieval history. As they struggle to comprehend the Cluniac movement and the Cistercian response, they're ready to embrace just about any distraction.
But a masked leper?
He storms though the door, shouting of his sores and his need for food as he throws himself at the startled students.
"Oh, this is a very nice robe," he says, reaching with a bandaged hand for Sophie Gray, who shrieks and pulls away.
