The Irish are coming. In their thousands they will descend on Cheltenham this coming week and as well as drinking as many pubs dry as they can manage, many of them will be eventually returning home with healthy wallets after betting heavily over the three days.
But the Festival takes on an added significance again this year as St Patrick's Day -that world-wide celebration of all things Irish, especially pints of the ubiquitous black stuff -is on Wednesday, day two of the event.
