Deciding which restaurants merited inclusion in the 2004 Dining Guide began four years ago when I wrote my first review - of Gateway Cafe - and concluded when I wrote this week's critique of L'Atelier. The 150 or so eateries honored are ones I've formally reviewed or visited at least once.
The 2004 Dining Guide, a magazine-size special section inside today's News, began in earnest several months ago when we started considering categories.
