Mar. 15--Bill Levine lost his job but gained a company.
In 2000, just weeks after losing his job, Levine started WL Concepts & Production, a sign- making business in Uniondale.
Back then, entrepreneurship was a foreign concept for him, so one of the first places he dropped by before opening his doors was the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale State University of New York. There, the disabled Vietnam veteran learned the how-tos of drawing up business plans, hiring financial staff and acquiring equipment.
