De Beers' Diamond Trading Company (DTC) has officially released the list of sightholders within its new Supplier of Choice framework, thus confirming the names of companies that had been known to most in the diamond trade since June 2003. Eleven of the 84 sightholders are headquartered in Israel.
In a statement released with its publication, Nicky Oppenheimer, the De Beers chairman, paid tribute to long-time De Beers clients who were left off the list "Many of these companies have been clients of ours for a long time," he said. "We have each benefited from good commercial and personal relationships and we continue to hold them in the highest esteem."
