Making her way into the prestigious rank of world-class Irish dancers, Mary Liz Rogers will travel from Lisle to Belfast, Ireland, in April to compete with the best of the best.
The Naperville North High School junior qualified to compete in the World Championships of Irish Dance by placing eighth in her age group at the Mid-America Regional Irish Dance Championships.
More than 2,000 dancers representing 50 Irish dance schools competed in November at the regional level in Columbus, Ohio. The international 34th Oireachtas world event, considered the Olympics of Irish dance, will have 4,000 competitors.
