ONE of Tony Blair's personal bodyguards once drove a Jeep belonging to Carole Caplin 700 miles to the South of France, Scotland Yard sources confirmed last night.
Australian con man Peter Foster had claimed that Cherie Blair's lifestyle adviser needed to use the vehicle during her holiday so the police officer was asked to collect it for her from London.
The Premier's close protection officer was one of an elite squad of officers highly trained in the use of firearms and antiterrorist techniques. A Scotland Yard source said: 'The officer was asked to drive Ms Caplin's Jeep but he was off-duty when he was asked to do so. ...
